A dependable public data foundation.

The Inspector now offers a bounded public API alongside reproducible open-data snapshots, while the underlying search, refresh operations and site reading experience have been strengthened for everyday use.

  • Read-only public API

    Look up one employer by NZBN or search legal and trading names without an account. The new API is rate-limited, cacheable, documented with OpenAPI, and cannot write data or expose platform/community records.

  • Dated open-data releases

    Download immutable, checksummed employer CSV snapshots with field definitions and provenance. The release catalog updates only after a validated scheduled publication succeeds, making bulk analysis reproducible.

  • Faster employer-name search

    The Worker now keeps its FTS index aligned with canonical employer rows more efficiently, reducing the work required when official employer data changes.

  • More deliberate record maintenance

    The operator refresh workflow and schedule were tightened so records nearing expiry can be refreshed sequentially with clearer safeguards outside the extension request path.

  • Clearer public documentation

    A dedicated public API guide, machine-readable references, refined typography and a cleaned-up asset set make the product and its data boundaries easier to understand.

The Inspector now links to a dedicated accredited-employer insights view, refreshes ageing official records more deliberately and gives LinkedIn users a practical recovery step when the page loads out of order.

    Explore the official snapshot by region, sector, subsector and scheduled accreditation expiry without querying the live service.

  • LinkedIn loading guidance

    The popup now explains that refreshing the page usually restores a missing Inspector button when LinkedIn loads elements unpredictably.

  • Expiry-aware refresh controls

    Stale or expired employer records use explicit refresh leases and cooldowns before another user-triggered INZ check.

  • Better project navigation

    Insights are linked from the extension popup and the landing site now keeps its full navigation available on mobile.

A clearer answer, with less guessing.

Automatic checks now rely on known associations and exact official names. When names differ, a separate keyword search keeps the user in control without presenting similarity as identity evidence.

  • Conservative automatic resolution

    Saved and community associations still resolve immediately, while automatic name matching now requires one exact official employer or trading name.

  • Fuzzy candidates removed

    Partial spelling, abbreviations and shared words such as Group or Limited no longer fill automatic results with weak candidates.

  • Predictable keyword search

    Manual search requires every entered keyword, supports prefix matching and returns no more than 10 official records for explicit review.

  • Compact recovery controls

    Search another name stays collapsed beside the result note until needed, then replaces the current candidate list instead of extending the card.

The Inspector now lets you search its local employer records by another legal or trading name, without changing the original page identity or making another live INZ request.
